Dress to impress

Here are some outfit ideas for summer office

Remember, it's very important to keep blazers on at all times if the dress underneath exposes a lot of skin like this one. The color green and the ruffles of dress makes it fresh and cool for summer and the black blazer stamps an office environment. I like to accessorize green with gold, an interesting vintage bracelet and brown shoes and purse to keep the whole outfit a little more neutral.

This dress doesn't require a blazer or a jacket because it's conservative enough. The color, the bow over the shoulder and the fun earrings will show you have personality. Then I kept everything else simple with a dark green purse and skin color shoes.

This outfit is one of my favorites. The dress is screaming fun summer, the white short cardigan will make a little more serious for the office. Then I added the red shoes as a pop up color and bangles with all the colors of the outfit.

Ahhh yellow. Yellow is so fun and fresh for summer, but because is too vibrant, I added a white tailored blazer, a simple love necklace, light brown shoes and some bangles that goes with gold necklace and simple shoes.

This is a romantic version of what you wear at he office. The floral dress is very cute and romantic and the light gray blazer finishes the look. Simple gold earrings and skin color shoes compliment the romantic look.

Casual Fridays! Can't go wrong with the write dress and the denim jacket helps the outfit to look a little more casual. Just he dress with denim is very simple, so because I always like to add a pop of color, I decided to go with a full red necklace and zebra shoes to make a statement after all.

I hope you have enjoyed my creations!

I don't think so

In an effort to warn most women out there to not buy items that will go quickly out of style and feel like you just threw your money away, I've decided to post a list of what won't stick around in fashion.

The Jumpsuit

Some of you might like the jumpsuit, but my predictions say it will be jumping out of style really fast. Jumpsuits are really hard to pull it off. If you are not size 1-2 or 3 it's a challenge to not make yourself look a size bigger than you really are. I personally think them make you rear end disappear. Unless you are wearing a tight one but then you run the risk of a possible cameltoe. If you think about it, a jumpsuit is an elastic pair of pants with a same color shirt tucked in.

This particular one has a gorgeous floral print and cute ruffles on the back. If it was just a shirt I would buy it.

High waist jeans
I love Kim Kardashian vavavoom style but she is a advocate of high waist jeans. Sure she looks good in them but for the rest of us mortals - No. In fact, I tthink they are slowly getting extinct. Mischa is another living example that you should not go out of your way to buy them.

Clog shoes
They've been trying really hard to come back, but thankfully most women know they will never make it strong again. Not at all sexy, not at all feminine, so I don't see the point.

What am I doing wrong?

I'll tell you what you are doing wrong...

Our subject of the day is - Socks

# 1 Black socks
Guys, please stop using black socks with shorts. It's really gross and a big turn off for most girls anyway. I started to notice that recently at the gym. Feet already get all sweaty from the gym and wearing a black sock I hope I'm miles away from you when you take your shoes off. We get all kinds of unnecessary visual images in our head that will prevent you from getting a date.
  • No, they won't look cozy and casual with your sandals.
  • No, they won't look stylish with your dress shoes if you're wearing shorts.
  • And No you will never represent with you dirty white tennis shoes either.
Ok...I'm starting to feel sick.

It is VERY unattractive and gross! The only time you can get away with black socks is in a suite with black dress shoes. Period.

#2 White socks all the way up
When I see the combination of tall white socks, cargo shorts and Hawaiian shirt I think - American senior citizen or Asian with a digital camera. It's a No-No folks. You don't need to stretch your socks all the way up like that. In fact, if you are going to wear shorts, buy those ankle socks. You can't go wrong with those.

# 3 No socks at all
I understand that choosing the right pair of socks can be overwhelming. But not wearing socks at all is the worst! If this person takes off his shoes, I hope I'm miles away from that. Please, don't even go there.

Then what should I wear with...

Tennis shoes? Ankle socks or short socks

With dress shoes? The rule is to try to match your suit or your pants not your shoes so the visual flows from top to bottom. Unless you are trying to go for Michael Jackson style with the whole black shoes with white socks thing.

With sandals or open toe shoes? First get a pedicure and please, don't wear socks.

Let's start from the basics

I've been looking around to find some chic and sophisticated items I consider basic.

White and wide linen trousers
They are superb for summer and of course, very chic. Add a jacket with a skinny belt and heels - Voila! It help your legs look longer - if you're on the petite side. It will soften large hips as well.

High waist skirt
Another summer high I can't get over. They are versatile item you can wear at work, out on a date or books store. You just need to pair it with the right shoes. Closed toe shoe, stilettos and flats respectively.

Newlyweds not so new - Denim jacket x Summer dress
I like the whole adding a fitted denim jacket with your summer dress thing. But could be any dress, any length, any color. Roll up your jacket sleeves once and unfold the back of collar - that will give a little somethin' somethin' to your look. Please toss that old Mcfly's puffy jacket if you still have one!

Little grey dress
Nothing against our friend black, but I'm a little tired of the same old story. Try getting another neutral colored dress that you can pair with blazers, belts, jackets, scarfs. Victoria gives a good example of what you can do with it. It works for any shape women. Add a wide waist belt and you immediately added that Va Va Voom!
